Why are locations mapped differently for NMS devices than for workstations?
NMS uses a different entry for devices, so you could have an NMS entry for a workstation and a regular agent for a workstation. Each of these is separate and agnostic of the other.
Is there a limit to how many locations you can create under an organization?
There is no limit to how many locations you can create for an organization.
Can I run separate reports for each location under an organization?
You can only run reports for each organization and not for each location.
Can the organization settings (such as Policies, TeamViewer, and Splashtop) be set per location?
Except for policies, the same organization settings will apply to all locations under an organization. You can learn more here.
Can I rename or delete the "Main Office" default location?
You may rename the "Main Office" default location by hovering over the location in the organization editor and clicking "edit," but you cannot delete the default location.
What will happen to the devices under a location if I delete a location?
If you delete a location, the devices will be reassigned to the default location for the organization.
How do I reassign the location for NMS devices?
You can reassign the location for the server hosting the NMS agent. This will automatically reassign the location for all NMS devices being monitored under the server's NMS agent via network discovery.
