About Managed and Unmanaged Devices
NinjaOne enables you to track both managed and unmanaged devices in NinjaOne. The following table provides an explanation of the difference between managed and unmanaged devices.
| Management Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Unmanaged | Unmanaged devices that will never be directly managed in NinjaOne because the device cannot install the RMM agent. |
| Unmanaged, monitorable | Devices that may become managed by NinjaOne in the future by installing the RMM agent. |
| Managed | Devices that are actively monitored in NinjaOne and have the RMM agent installed. |
