FAQ

Are search groups dynamic?

Yes, the devices included in a search group will reflect the current status of the devices in your NinjaOne environment.

Can I run scheduled tasks against a group, or multiple groups?

Yes, you can run scheduled tasks against groups, devices, or organizations.

Can I select particular devices and add them to a new group?

Currently, groups are created based on selections made to the Devices search filters. There is no way to simply select particular devices to place in a search group.

Can I copy existing groups?

No, existing groups cannot be copied. You can modify the group and save it as a new group.

Can I share groups with other users?

If you are a system administrator in your NinjaOne environment, your groups will automatically be shared with any other system administrators upon creation. Otherwise, you can define the permission settings to control which technician roles can view the devices in the search group.

How can I filter for a parameter that is not listed in any of NinjaOne's native filters?

You can add notes and tags to device dashboards and then use the More filters to group devices based on the note or tag.

Can I save column configurations to a search group?

Yes. Edit a search group to access the Table settings dialog. When you add, remove, or rearrange columns in the Table settings dialog, these changes can be saved to the group.

When you exit the search group and return to the Devices search page, the columns will revert to the default view. Open the search group again to view the customized column settings.
