Fixing Backup Error 316: No Host Found for Network Storage

Pre-flight checks for a protected endpoint's backup job fail with the error message, "NAS_NO_HOST_FOUND 316."

Cause

This error indicates that NinjaOne was unable to resolve the Network Attached Storage (NAS) device's DNS name on the local network.

Resolution

This error occurs because the machine performing the backup is unable to resolve the NAS device's hostname. Ensure that both devices are on the same network when the backup attempt is underway.
