Issue
Backups for a protected endpoint fail with the error message, "Error 5: Access denied to backup agent due to EFS encryption."

Cause
During backup operations, the device could not access the file or folder due to permission issues when reading the object. The System user account leveraged by NinjaOne Backup lacks the necessary permissions to access the file or folder.
Resolution
Ensure that the System user has the necessary permissions for the file or folder. Be aware that EFS encryption can prevent NinjaOne Backup from reading the file, which may inhibit the backup process.
