Questions

The credentials section is not loading, or there is an error message "content is blocked." How do I fix this?

Verify you are logged into the correct site: https://{region}.ninjarmm.com (instead of "ninjaone.com").

How are credentials transmitted to a node and stored securely?

NinjaOne transmits credentials to a node in an encrypted fashion. The NinjaOne agent decrypts, uses, and then discards the credentials, leaving only the encrypted version.

What method of encryption is NinjaOne using for the credential store?

NinjaOne uses AES-256 encryption.

Can I pass credentials to a device manually?

There is not currently an option to pass credentials to a device ad hoc. To use them, you must store them under an organization's credential list.

Can I share credentials across organizations?

NinjaOne stores credentials per organization. If you have the same credentials across multiple organizations, you will need to add them to each organization separately.

What happens if my credentials are invalid?

If your credentials are invalid, the action you are attempting to run using those credentials (running a patch management application cycle, running a script, initiating an RDP session, etc.) will fail.

What happens if I delete a credential referenced as a default for an organization or device?

If you delete a credential referenced as an organization's default, NinjaOne changes that category's default to "Disabled" until you assign another credential as a default. If you delete a credential referenced as a default for a particular device (as an override), the default for that category will revert to the organization default.

Can credentials be imported from IT Glue (or another source)?

There is no way to import credentials; you must enter them manually into NinjaOne.

Why are my Azure credentials not working?

NinjaOne does not support Azure AD credentials.
