This article discusses how to enable default patch approval for third-party patches in NinjaOne.
Environment
NinjaOne Patching
Description
Default Approvals let administrators automatically approve all relevant critical updates for NinjaOne-supported software. You can:
- Set patch approval across both NinjaOne and Winget-supported apps.
- Work more efficiently by auto-approving critical updates to stay secure without having to manually confirm each application update.
Activating Default Approval
- In NinjaOne, navigate to Administration → Policies → Agent policies, then choose a policy from the list.
- In the policy's configuration menu, click Software patching, then activate the Approvals toggle.
Setting the Default Patch Action
After enabling default approval, you can choose which patches NinjaOne will approve. Click Edit, as shown in Figure 2, then select whether NinjaOne should Approve, require Manual approval for, or Reject critical and recommended patches. When finished, click Save.
