Commonly Used Permissions

The following are examples of commonly used permissions for NinjaOne technicians with custom technician roles.

Ability to view Organization(s) and Devices within

Organizations are Enabled with a minimum Default Access of "View":

And Devices are Enabled with a minimum Default Access of "View":

Important Note: If Devices is not Enabled with a minimum Default Access of "View," then users with this role will see Organization names with no devices in them. 

 

Ability to manage Devices within one specific Organization

Organizations Enabled with a minimum of "View" access on that specific Organization:

And Devices Enabled with a minimum of Default Access of "View" or custom Permissions set for specific Device Roles:

Ability to Reboot devices

Automation Library must be Enabled with the Default Access set to "Run."

This will provide the option to Reboot devices and give the users access to all automations under Maintenance. The action menu shown below can be accessed from the device dashboard, next to the device name.

Ticketing and Reporting Permissions

Ticketing Enabled with a minimum Board Access of "View":

Wake-on-LAN Permissions

Important Note: For technicians to have access to Wake-on-LAN, the Default Access for Automation Library must be set to a minimum of "Run", and the technician must have at least "View and Update" access to the device.
