NinjaOne IT Asset Management (ITAM): Unmanaged Device Roles

Topic

This article explains how to move an unmanaged device role and its children to a new destination in NinjaOne.

Environment

NinjaOne Endpoint Management

Description

Reorganize your unmanaged device role structure as your company's data evolves. Any fields added to an inherited tab will be removed during the move process. These can be re-added after the move is complete, and the data entered in the fields will remain.

Currently, you cannot move managed device roles or create new subtypes when moving unmanaged device roles.

To learn about how to add custom fields to the device roles, refer to NinjaOne Endpoint Management: Device Roles.

Add a Child Role

Child roles, or subtypes, inherit properties from the original role. You can add multiple sub-types.

  1. Navigate to the role at Administration Devices Roles. Expand the Unmanaged Devices drop-down menu.
