SMS Notification Guard helps prevent an overwhelming number of SMS messages if certain events or conditions trigger frequent alerts.
How it works
Monitors: Tracks the number of SMS alerts sent for each type of event within set time periods.
Protects: Stops events or conditions from flooding you with too many SMS alerts.
SMS Limits:
- A maximum of 3 SMS messages per event type can be sent every minute.
- A maximum of 15 SMS messages per event type can be sent within an hour.
These time periods are based on a sliding window, not fixed hours, so the count resets as time passes. If you reach these limits, you'll need to wait until the count goes down before you can receive more SMS messages freely.
After notification guard protects from a surge of SMS messages, the subsequent SMS received will include an extra line stating "X similar skipped." This indicates the number of messages that were prevented due to the activity flood.
