This article explains how to create a Runbook report in NinjaOne.
Environment
Description
The Runbooks report allows you to provide a curated export of documentation in an easily readable PDF format or export information for disaster recovery. If configured, the documentation will retain branding.
Select a category to learn more:
Create a Runbook Report
- Enter a title and (optionally) a description for the new data table report.
- Select which technician accounts will receive the report. You can select multiple options from the available dropdown; remove the selection by clicking the X next to the name.

- Under Content, activate the checkbox(es) for the types of documentation you want included. Certain selections expand the Create Runbook modal to provide more configuration options.

- Include global articles—no additional configuration options appear for this selection; all articles in the system Knowledge Base will be included.
- Include organization articles—the Organizations section displays to allow you to select documents from all organizations or specify which organization's documents you want to include.

- Include Apps & Service documents—include documents created from a template. For more information about Apps & Services, please see NinjaOne Documentation: Apps & Services.

- Include secure field values—no additional configuration options appear for this selection; secure field values may include a unique username and password, related URLs, and additional notes.
- Click Save.
The request will be processed, and a PDF will be sent to your NinjaOne email from [email protected]. - Click the Download Runbook button in the body of the email to open the PDF in your Web browser.
The report will contain a table of contents with hyperlinks to help you navigate to each export.
Related Items for Reports
If you included Apps and Services templates in the report, the PDF will have any related item available for that template. The related items provide links to the applicable location or document in NinjaOne.
