For this Patch Notes: People Edition, we’re heading to Sydney! As our Sydney office grows and our APAC presence expands (following the close of our acquisition of Dropsuite in June), we thought it only right to sit down with Taseen Ahad – a Senior Development Representative (SDR) who’s crushing it in the region!
In his 2+ years as a Ninja, Taseen has risen swiftly through the ranks – steadily earning multiple leveling promotions within the SDR role (no easy feat!). We sat down with him to dig a little deeper into what he attributes his successes to, his favorite aspects of being a Ninja, what a day in the life of Taseen looks like (including a custom morning Mocha recipe), and more. Check it out!
Hey Taseen! Tell us about yourself! What do you do at NinjaOne?
I’m a Senior SDR based in our Sydney office. As a huge anime fan, it’s only fitting that my favorite series is Naruto—a nod to being part of the NinjaOne team.
In my role, I wear multiple hats. Beyond scheduling demos, I help with training and coaching new SDRs, and I lead enablement sessions to ensure our team always stays sharp. Recently, I’ve also taken on conducting product demos myself. It’s a dynamic and fulfilling position that keeps me engaged and passionate about what I do.
What makes NinjaOne a great place to grow in your career? Can you talk about some of the cultural elements here that have enabled you to thrive?
It’s all about the people and the culture here. I’ve never before experienced such a collaborative, supportive, and caring team. When I first joined, there were just eight of us in a small Sydney office. We all shared a fiery passion to help, grow, and win together, and that drive hasn’t changed as we’ve expanded to over 60 local employees. If anything, it’s only grown stronger!
It’s rare to find a team where everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed. At NinjaOne, that’s the norm. Whether it’s celebrating wins, sharing knowledge, or tackling new challenges together, the collaborative spirit is what makes this place truly special.
Tell us about a day in the life of Tas! What does that look like?
I start my day with a concoction I like to call “coffee with benefits”: an iced mocha loaded with extra chocolate, caramel, a drizzle of honey, and, for that extra kick, a big spoonful of chocolate
ice cream. Some might say it’s more dessert than coffee, but I say it’s the fuel that powers my day. 😄
Once I’m caffeinated and ready to conquer the world, I bombard my senior manager, Pablo, with a barrage of questions—about 1,000 non-work-related ones, followed by another 1,000 work-related inquiries. It’s a dynamic that keeps both of us on our toes.
Prad is next on my hit list for wisdom, mainly because he’s never let me fail and also because he answers my questions faster than Google, and with 78% more SaaS (pun intended).
Each workday brings something new. Some days, I’m booking demos, and other days, I’m training and coaching fellow SDRs. Occasionally, I get to run demos myself, and my favorite days are when I get to do a bit of everything! After work, I embark on a culinary adventure, hunting down new restaurants or hidden gems around the city. It’s my way of unwinding and discovering new flavors to savor.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Everything! From engaging with potential customers (it’s always amazing to see their reactions to NinjaOne in action) to coaching my fellow peers and running demos—every day is different. That’s what excites me most about being at NinjaOne; there’s always something that gets my heart racing and fuels my energy.
I truly love the family we’ve built here. Regardless of your role or who you’re asking for help, everyone is here to support one another. The culture is incredibly special in that way.
Tell us more about the conversations you’re having with customers and partners in APAC right now. What’s top of mind for them?
A big concern among APAC customers right now is achieving reliable and rapid patching, particularly to meet the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) Essential Eight requirements. A lot of organizations are facing challenges with legacy vendors that struggle to scale patching across a large number of endpoints — especially pressing as the ACSC emphasizes the importance of timely patch applications to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
NinjaOne is perfectly poised to help organizations address concerns like these. By providing a comprehensive and user-friendly platform, we help organizations meet compliance requirements and enhance cybersecurity posture without the complexity associated with traditional patch management solutions.
If someone joined your team tomorrow, what advice would you give them?
Stay hungry and stay curious. The key difference between a high-performing SDR and someone struggling is coachability. If you’re willing to learn, NinjaOne is committed to teaching and supporting you in reaching your goals.
Ask questions and never stop learning. I’ve been here for almost three years, and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface of what it takes to be at the top of my game. Embrace a growth mindset, seek feedback, and be adaptable.
Remember, the journey is as important as the destination. Enjoy the process, celebrate small wins, and keep pushing forward. You’re not alone—lean on your team, and together, we’ll achieve great things.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people at work don’t know?
I represented my district in the prestigious Champion of Champions soccer tournament hosted by the Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA). I was in my mid-teens when I made the team. We didn’t win, but we made it to the semifinals—a solid effort!
I played a “hidden cam” role—a False 9 if you will. Here’s a fun tidbit: I was nearly disqualified the week before the tournament. During a match against my friend’s team, he dived in a one-on-one situation, and the referee gave me a red card. Fortunately, the decision was overturned before the Champion of Champions competition.
