Vendor consolidation drives savings
By switching from ConnectWise Automate to NinjaOne, ETAMU immediately cut $50,000 in annual licensing costs. The team also replaced Deep Freeze with a custom script, unlocking another $6,000 in yearly savings, and eliminated JAMF, saving an additional $2,000 per year. Over two years, these changes alone have saved the university a hundred thousand dollars and that’s just the start. “We cut our endpoint management costs almost in half transitioning to NinjaOne,” Charles Gaskill, desktop support supervisor, said.
Rapid deployment, reliable patching
Deploying NinjaOne across ETAMU’s multiple campuses was fast and seamless. Leveraging the university’s existing Active Directory infrastructure, Gaskill and his team rolled out the platform in just days. “We deployed NinjaOne through our Active Directory, which only took a day or two. It was seamless,” Gaskill shared.
The university’s IT team uses NinjaOne to enforce a reliable monthly patch cadence across thousands of Windows machines, ensuring that vulnerabilities are closed quickly and efficiently. Improved compliance helps the team prepare confidently for audits and gives leadership peace of mind.
“Having that level of justification will help us a lot when auditors come,” Gaskill explained. “If they find a bad computer, we can show them it was one out of 400,000 successful patches.”
Accelerating IT issue resolution
With NinjaOne Remote and automation capabilities, the IT team drastically reduced the time spent on manual tasks. “I’d estimate we save at least four hours per technician per day compared to what we’d be doing without NinjaOne,” Gaskill noted. “Updates that used to take hours now run automatically or we can remote in, without ever setting foot on campus.” In many cases, issues that once took 30 to 60 minutes to resolve can now be remediated in just 30-60 seconds–that’s up to 120X faster MTTR.
