I’m proud to share a milestone moment for NinjaOne: today, we’ve completed our acquisition of Dropsuite, a leader in SaaS backup and data protection. This is a bold step forward for our organization, and one we believe will significantly benefit our customers and partners as the world we work in (and the way we work) evolves.
Backing up smarter, in a hostile digital landscape
Over the past few decades, managing business data has become increasingly complicated with the rise of SaaS. In addition, we’ve seen the threat landscape change in a multitude of ways. From new threat vectors to a widening software supply chain to increasingly targeted and dynamic threats. Organizations across the board have increased their investment in detecting and responding to business interruptions and cyber threats, but it’s also critical that they prepare for recovery.
When it comes to successfully recovering from ransomware attacks, restoring operations, and resuming business operations in a timely manner, the most critical factor is the state of your backups. Backups are essential for preventing data loss, ensuring business continuity, and building organizational resilience. But too many organizations are still relying on fragmented backup strategies to protect their most critical business assets. A patchwork of legacy endpoint tools, bolt-on SaaS protectors, and disconnected consoles. All amounting to a great deal of complexity, which isn’t just inefficient… it’s dangerous.
Now, with so much work happening at the endpoint, it also falls on IT and security teams to ensure that they don’t just have effective local backup plans in place – they also must ensure they’re enabling comprehensive data and email backup coverage wherever employees work.
Smarter backup, simpler recovery
As always, our goal at NinjaOne is to make all this simpler for IT and security teams. With the acquisition of Dropsuite, NinjaOne will be able to significantly deepen the data protection we offer – providing customers with fast recovery for endpoints and servers, automated cloud SaaS protection, and long-term archiving for compliance and legal readiness – all within the NinjaOne platform.
Immutable backups, robust encryption, and policy-based retention all enable organizations to meet their operational and regulatory needs while maintaining streamlined management. And NinjaOne’s industry-leading, single-pane-of-glass experience allows MSPs, SMBs, and enterprises alike to confidently secure and manage their full data lifecycle, from backup to audit.
The IT practitioner’s role is constantly evolving. Today it’s not just about tackling tickets in a timely manner; it’s about driving the business forward by empowering and enabling end users. While the future of SaaS backup is in supporting users wherever they choose to work, it’s also about protecting data where it lies. We’re here to assist in this proactive shift, by providing IT and security teams with a comprehensive view of their data, endpoints, and SaaS applications across the enterprise, so they can stay ahead when it comes to boosting functionality, employee satisfaction, and organizational resilience – in turn driving a more effective digital workplace.
Why Dropsuite, why now?
For us, this isn’t just an acquisition. It’s a convergence of talent, vision, and momentum. The Dropsuite team brings with them exceptional, proven capabilities in customer engagement and success, not to mention their culture of innovation and execution is perfectly aligned with ours.
To stay ahead, we’re focused on scaling not just our product, but also our way of thinking. This acquisition (a first for us at NinjaOne) allows us to unlock even more value for our customers against the backdrop of an increasingly complex IT and security landscape and even more strenuous economic circumstances. We believe that the endpoint management market must evolve to take on the challenges modern organizations face, and IT teams deserve more than “good enough” to get them there.
While our integration is already in motion, over the next few months, we’ll be working closely across teams to align roadmaps, share knowledge, and merge operations. Our goal is to combine strengths while staying focused on our shared purpose: Help customers improve business productivity, reduce risk, and ultimately thrive in a dynamic, interconnected world.
To the entire team at Dropsuite: We are so excited to have you onboard! You’re joining a passionate group of builders, thinkers, and doers — and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.
Let’s get to work. 🚀
