Challenge

Baseline management wasn’t enough at scale

When the lead infrastructure engineer joined, the organization’s endpoint estate was divided. Some devices operated on legacy on-premises infrastructure, others had already migrated to the cloud. His focus was to unify all systems under in-house control.

The team relied on Microsoft Intune as the core MDM solution for zero-touch device deployment and policy control. However, Intune had limitations. Third-party application patching required engineers to manually build and maintain detection and remediation scripts, which was time-consuming, inconsistent, and impractical at scale. They implemented an RMM tool called GoToResolve with the hopes of resolving this issue, but after a year, it had not shown any progress.

With more endpoints moving in-house, the gaps became increasingly obvious. Patch updates ran without real-time insight into patching status and priorities. Asset tracking was managed in a basic tool that was, essentially, a fancy spreadsheet. Employees worked across offices, homes, and client sites, and supporting the devices outside the managed estate was a persistent challenge.

This newfound ability shed light on a significant security risk; their health score across devices was a shocking 7%. Within a few months of using NinjaOne, the score rose to a solid 65%. “Our team was tracking their health score every day. We celebrated every percentage point that went up,” says the lead engineer.

With their previous setup, every third-party update required manually writing, plus maintaining both detection and remediation scripts. Remote access for a distributed workforce

With team members working across offices, homes, and client sites, the healthcare provider needed a remote access tool that could reach any device.
