Overview

Action Enfance is a French nonprofit organization recognized nationwide for providing family-style care for children who have left abusive or neglectful environments. Operating across 22 organizations and 40 physical sites across metropolitan France, the foundation runs “villages.” These purpose-built environments are designed to replicate family life for children in need.

NinjaOne is a real assistant. It does tasks on our behalf that we used to do manually. That's what makes it genuinely worth it.”

Tahar Naït Slimani, CIO

Challenge

Keeping the organization and its villages operational is the responsibility of CIO Tahar Naït Slimani and his IT team. The number of Windows workstations is steadily growing, as the foundation continues to open new villages every six months. Tahar needed a solution that could give his team centralized control, real-time visibility, and automation to keep up with a rapidly expanding environment. He found it in NinjaOne.

Flying blind across 40 sites

When Tahar joined the foundation nearly a decade ago, everything was outsourced. Over the years, he worked to bring IT management in-house and centralize the infrastructure, migrating to Microsoft 365, consolidating Active Directory, and building out a proper IT function. However, one critical gap remained: visibility.

“Before NinjaOne, we didn’t know the state of our machines,” Tahar explained. “We’d send local subcontractors to scan machines on-site and report back to us. We had no central view.”

For remote actions, the team relied on TeamViewer, which required calling the end user, walking them through finding the app, and exchanging access codes. Such a process would easily come to a halt when the person on the other end wasn’t technically confident. In a sector staffed largely by educators, social workers, and healthcare professionals, that was most of the time.

On top of that, Tahar’s team handled their patch management manually. They lacked visibility across their environment, and setting up a new workstation took around three hours per device. Their stress levels climbed, and so did their hours.

Solution: Why Action Enfance Chose NinjaOne

Visibility that changes everything

Within three months, Action Enfance set up NinjaOne across all its workstations. The impact on day-to-day operations was immediate.

For the first time, Tahar’s team had full, real-time visibility of every device across every site. Machines that hadn’t been restarted in days or weeks were flagged instantly. Policies got pushed from a single console. “Today, we have a view of everything, and that’s the most important thing for me. The visibility, the tracking, that’s NinjaOne’s real value,” says Tahar.

Results & Outcomes

40% faster remote support, every time

With NinjaOne Remote, the team no longer coordinates with end users to establish a connection. If a machine is on, they access it. Tahar estimates the team saves up to 40% of time on every remote support session: “I see my team’s behavior: their stress levels have decreased significantly since we got NinjaOne. We easily save 5-6 hours of work each week.”

Automations doing the work

NinjaOne’s scripting library and policy engine have given the team a powerful playground to build a portfolio of automated workflows that now run without any manual intervention. “NinjaOne is a real assistant. It does tasks on our behalf that we used to do manually. That’s what makes it genuinely worth it,” says Tahar.

Automatic restart nudges trigger automated messages in machines that haven’t been restarted in several days, prompting the user to restart. After three or four ignored prompts, the machine restarts automatically. The policy runs continuously across the entire fleet.

New device configuration previously took three hours for each workstation. Thanks to NinjaOne automation template scripts, this has been cut to one and a half hours, with half of all setup work now handled directly through NinjaOne. Action Enfance’s fleet expands by about 15 new workstations each month. In addition to that, there is normal employee fluctuation driving up the volume of new device setups monthly. That adds up to more than 20 hours saved every month – half an employee’s week of work.

Previously done manually, patch deployment is now automated with NinjaOne. Automated patching lets the team save around 20 minutes per device, across up to 10 machines patched per week on average.

Time consuming tedious tasks in support, patching and device setup led to rising stress levels and employee burnout: “Before implementing NinjaOne my team was always stressed, eating lunch quickly at their desk to be able to finish their tasks. Now they can take a normal lunch break, and I can feel the relief, because we were able to automate so many tasks with NinjaOne,” recalls Tahar.

Smarter ticketing

Before NinjaOne, Action Enfance had developed its own internal ticketing tool. It did the job, but it required IT staff to create tickets from incoming emails manually.

NinjaOne Ticketing changed that. When an email arrives at the IT team’s shared inbox, NinjaOne reads the content and automatically creates a ticket. Routing rules assign the ticket to the right specialist. Additionally, the team embedded a custom shortcut in the notification tray that lets users submit a ticket directly to NinjaOne, without navigating anywhere unfamiliar.

“Tickets are more readable, easier to distribute, and easier to handle. But above all, we have a history. We can see patterns across establishments and anticipate problems before they spread,” says Tahar.

A tool that attracts talent

One unexpected benefit: NinjaOne has become a recruitment asset. When Tahar recently hired two new IT team members, he mentioned NinjaOne was part of the team’s core IT stack. Both candidates had previous experience with the platform. “When I told them we were using NinjaOne, their eyes lit up. It signals that IT here is serious and the day-to-day job is just more fun working with a modern and intuitive platform,” says Tahar.

NinjaOne transformed Action Enfance’s daily operations. The nationally distributed, mission-driven organization benefits now from full fleet visibility, intelligent automations, and streamlined support. For its employees, this means reduced stress, saved time, and freed up capacity the team didn’t know they were missing.
