Some career paths are planned, while others are built by saying “yes” to new opportunities. At NinjaOne, we’re always looking for ways to help employees grow alongside the company and explore exciting new career paths. One role that’s made a particularly strong impact in recent years is the Demo Specialist position, which gives ambitious sellers the opportunity to deepen their product expertise, strengthen customer communication skills, and accelerate their growth within sales.
Few people understand the impact of that role better than Brandon Le, an Account Executive, SMB, who has quickly risen through the ranks at NinjaOne. In just two years, Brandon progressed from SDR to Demo Specialist to AE, becoming one of the early pioneers of the Demo Specialist path along the way. His journey highlights not only the value the role brings to our customers and sales organization, but also the opportunities it can create for Ninjas looking to grow their careers and expand their impact.
Let’s get to know Brandon
Tell us about yourself. What do you do at NinjaOne?
Hey! I’m Brandon. I’m an Account Executive on the SMB side of our business, originally from Los Angeles, California. I’ve held four roles at NinjaOne in the past two years. First, I was in Revival Sales, then Enterprise Inside Sales, then Demo Specialist, and finally, Account Executive, SMB. In short, I help clients simplify their IT operations with NinjaOne 😃
You were one of the early team members to move from SDR to Demo Specialist to AE in just two years. How did the Demo Specialist role shape your skills and set you up for success as an AE?
The Demo Specialist role allows you to be really hands on with customers. Partnering closely with them, refining your talk track and skills. By putting yourself out there, and having deeper connections with customers, you learn more about yourself personally and professionally. For example, you learn very quickly if you want to become an Account Executive through the Demo Specialist role, or if you want to be part of the sales team, support organization, customer success or take on a different role within NinjaOne. You also get a really intimate understanding of how our business operates. How we help clients navigate their business decisions tied to unified IT operations with ease and confidence.
How did being closer to live demos and customer conversations influence the way you sell today as an AE?
You learn how to level set with customers, set expectations, and reinforce that this is a partnership. We’re here to help their business grow, and our goal is to grow and scale alongside them. We always say, our biggest success as a company is our customers’ success. And we genuinely mean that.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned at NinjaOne so far?
Never be afraid to say what’s on your mind. Knowledge is power. If you’re talking with a customer, and you discover a new business opportunity or think of a new workflow or feature that can help them be more successful with NinjaOne, share it with your team! It’s really cool to work at a company that operates with such a flat organizational structure. Information sharing at all levels is heavily encouraged.
What have you learned from working with SMB customers, and what do you enjoy most about partnering with them?
Every conversation is different because every SMB operates differently. I enjoy having open dialogue with clients and putting myself in their shoes. IT is a really complex world these days, and there’s a lot of weight that’s put on every purchasing decision and every new tool that’s added to the stack. I always try to envision what I would do if I was in their shoes and think about what the future would look like if they choose to go with NinjaOne.
What’s one of your favorite things about working out of the Austin office?
So many things. Direct support from management. The ability to collaborate with AEs on the same team, and AEs on other teams. And being able to help SDRs learn more about NinjaOne or advance in their own careers. The accessibility, comradery, and energy here makes work a lot more exciting and impactful.
What are you passionate about outside of your career?
My two Siberian Huskies, Mia & Rhea. Also, wellness, fitness, and anything Food Network related (and/or Guy Fieri related).
That’s all for this edition of Patch Notes: People Edition! Brandon’s journey is a great reminder that as NinjaOne continues to grow, so do the opportunities for Ninjas to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and build exciting career paths along the way.
