Before you get started, make sure you meet a few basic requirements. You'll need to be running Windows 10 version 1709 or later, or Windows 11. Administrator access is required to change registry and policy settings, and some familiarity with command line tools, PowerShell, or Group Policy will be helpful. Method one: via local group policy. This method offers a simple, straightforward way to control the visibility of the Family Options page on each device. To do this, press Window + R. Type gpedit.msc and press Enter. Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Security, Family Options. Double-click Hide the Family Options area. Select Enabled to hide the page or Disabled/Not configured to show it. Click OK, then restart Windows Security or your PC to apply the change. Method two: via registry editor. This approach lets you modify the Windows registry directly and works on all Windows editions, including Home. To execute this method, press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter. Go to if Family Options doesn't exist, right-click Windows Defender Security Center, choose New, Key, and name it Family Options. In the right pane, create a DWORD 32-bit value named UI Lockdown. Set UI Lockdown to one to hide the page. To show the page, you can set it to zero or delete it. Close the registry editor and restart Windows Security or your PC. Method three: via command prompt. This is a faster command line version of the registry change from method two, making it ideal for scripting, automation, or quick remote updates. First, press Window + X and choose Command Prompt Admin or Windows Terminal Admin. Run this command to hide the page. Run this command to show the page. Restart Windows Security or your PC to apply the changes. Managing the visibility of the Family Options page helps keep Windows Security aligned with your environment. Windows offers several flexible ways to do this, from single device settings to organization-wide policies.
