Why Enable or Disable Tailored Experiences With Tailored Experiences, Windows uses optional diagnostic data to provide personalized tips, ads, and suggestions. However, some users and IT admins prefer to turn it off for privacy, compliance, and data management reasons. In either case, here are four ways to toggle the Tailored Experiences feature on or off. Four Methods to Turn On or Off Tailored Experiences Let’s start with the quickest method: Settings. Open Settings, go to the Privacy & security section, then select Diagnostics & feedback. There, scroll down to find Tailored Experiences, and simply toggle it on or off. This next method is suitable to apply changes on an enterprise level. To open Group Policy Editor, press Windows key + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter. Then, navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Cloud Content. Locate and double-click on the ‘Do not use diagnostic data for tailored experiences’ policy, and select Enabled to turn off Tailored Experiences, or Disabled/Not Configured to turn it on. Click Apply, then OK, and restart your system to save changes, or run gpupdate /force in Command Prompt to update policies immediately. Enterprise admins can also try another method: Registry Editor. Open it by pressing Win+ R, typing regedit, and hitting Enter. Navigate to: Find or create the DWORD Value named ‘TailoredExperiencesWithDiagnosticDataEnabled’ and set it to 1 to enable it or 0 to disable. Close the editor and restart to save changes. This final method is ideal for those who want to automate the process with scripts. Open Notepad, and use to enable: Or this script to disable: Save the file with a .reg extension, such as Enabled_Tailored_Experiences.reg or Disabled_Tailored_Experiences.reg. Then, double-click the file, confirm prompts, and restart to apply changes. Enabling or disabling Tailored Experiences allows you to align Windows 11 with your organization’s privacy policies or your personal data preferences.
