An In-depth overview of the cloud computing stack. Back in the early days of the internet, computers needed to be connected to a traditional data center. Nowadays, lots of IT processes can be moved over to the cloud, leading to the emergence of cloud computing as a way to deliver services such as storage, networking, and analytics. In this video, we'll discuss the basics of cloud computing and how these tools are deployed. Before we begin, be sure to subscribe to Ninja One's IT Video Hub. For more tech content like this, a cloud computing stack is composed of three main layers. The first is infrastructure as a service, or I-A-A-S-I-A-S refers to infrastructure elements such as servers, storage networks, and operating systems that you rent from a cloud service vendor. Using IAAS, you can create virtual machines without the need for hardware maintenance. The second layer is platform as a service, or P-A-A-S-P-A-S refers to cloud services that focus on developing testing, delivering or managing software. If your company is developing an app or service, A-P-A-A-S vendor will help you test it. The last layer is software as a service or SaaS. SaaS refers to centrally hosted and managed software services that you use. These are typically offered on a subscription basis. In this next section, we'll discuss four ways cloud computing can be deployed in your organization. The first method is public cloud services. These are owned and operated by a third party provider that provides a sort of virtual data center and delivers resources such as servers and storage. Next up are private cloud services. These are built exclusively for an organization. A private cloud can either be located within the company premises, or else hosted by a third party. Hybrid deployment refers to a combination of private and public cloud services. These services are linked through the cloud so that applications can still communicate with one another. Finally, there's multi-cloud deployment. This option is for organizations that wanna work with multiple cloud vendors to provide redundancy, improve availability, and reduce the risk of vendor lock-in. Before implementing cloud computing, make sure you've created a thorough plan for how to integrate this software into your existing practices. An In-Depth Overview of the Cloud Computing Stack

Confused by cloud terms like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS? The cloud computing stack breaks down how services are delivered—from infrastructure to platforms to software. Each layer offers different levels of control, flexibility, and responsibility, helping businesses scale efficiently. Understanding the stack is key to choosing the right mix of services for your operations, whether you’re building apps, managing data, or simply using cloud-based tools.
