How to uninstall a printer driver in Windows. Need to remove your printer driver from your PC? Learn how you can do that in three easy ways. Before we begin, be sure to subscribe to Ninja One's IT video hub and our YouTube channel for more tech content like this. The first way is through the Settings app. Go to Settings from the Start menu. Navigate to Bluetooth & devices, Printers & scanners for Windows 11, or Devices, Printers & scanners for Windows 10. Click Print server properties, and then on the Drivers tab in the Print server properties window, click Change driver settings to allow drivers to be uninstalled. Select the driver you want to completely uninstall from the list and click Remove. You can hold the Control key to select multiple drivers to uninstall. Select Remove driver and driver package and click OK, then Yes when prompted to confirm. You will then be presented with the changes that will be applied, including the driver package files that will be deleted. Press Delete to apply the change. Choose OK when the process has completed and close the Print server properties window. The next one is via the Control Panel. Open it by pressing Windows key plus R, type control, and clicking OK. Go to Devices and Printers. In Windows 11, this will redirect you to the Settings app. Continue from method one's steps. In Windows 10, select any printer and click Print server properties from the toolbar. Then continue with the Drivers tab. The final and most comprehensive method is through Print Management Console, available only in Pro and Enterprise editions of Windows 10/11. Run printmanagement.msc and expand Custom filters, All drivers. Right click your selected driver, click Remove driver package, and confirm by pressing Delete. And there you have it, three ways to uninstall a printer driver in Windows 10 and 11.
