Your activity history includes files you've opened, programs you've used, websites you've visited, and even connected USB devices. If you're signed in with a Microsoft account, this data can sync to the cloud for access across devices. Handy, but not always ideal for privacy. How To View And Delete Your Activity History To view your activity history, press the Windows key, go to Settings, then click Privacy and open the Activity History tab. From here you can review and manage your local data. Now let's delete that history. First, under Activity History settings, click the Clear button to remove local records. Then go to Microsoft's Privacy dashboard, sign in, and under Activity History, choose the data type you want to remove. Scroll down and click Clear all activities. Additional Privacy Practices Want to stop tracking altogether? In the same Activity History menu, uncheck “Store my activities on this device” and disable all listed accounts under “Show activities from these accounts.” If activity logs still appear, it may be due to browser cookies, backup syncing from the cloud, or delayed updates. To speed up a sync fix, search “Windows Update” in Settings and click Check for updates. For extra privacy, consider switching from a Microsoft account to a local one. You’ll lose some cloud-based features, but your data stays local— no sync, no tracking, and fewer privacy risks.
