Patch Notes: People Edition – Meet Matthew Carrington!

Patch Notes: People Edition - Matthew Carrington

We have amazing Ninjas all over the world who are charged with not only driving our operations and programs at scale, but also carrying our incredible culture with them to new places. One such Ninja is Matthew Carrington, Associate Manager of Marketing Programs, EMEA.

Over the past few years, Matthew has grown his career within our marketing organization across roles and borders. From Bournemouthian to Berliner, he embodies what it means to thrive at NinjaOne: navigating hypergrowth, building connections across teams and countries, and ensuring core messages and marketing efforts resonate with local audiences.

We sat down with Matthew to talk more about what he’s working on at NinjaOne, what excites him most about being part of a global team, and lessons he’s learned along the way.

Let’s get to know Matthew.

Hey Matthew! Tell us about yourself. What do you do at NinjaOne?

I originally joined the team in 2022 as a Marketing Coordinator for the UK, before working my way up to a Senior Marketing Manager and now Associate Manager of Marketing Programs, EMEA. In my current role, I lead a team of three who look after our EMEA-based integrated campaigns, webinars, and all EMEA email communications. My role is to support, guide, and help them manage their work so our work in EMEA marketing aligns with global marketing objectives, while driving the most brand awareness and business impact in the region as possible. I’ve got a phenomenal team – I can’t speak more highly of them! They’re incredibly hard workers, and it’s an absolute pleasure to work with them every day.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a global marketing team? How does that global culture influence the way you approach your work?

NinjaOne has grown so much in the past few years, and in EMEA, we’ve got so many different teams, and so many different people from various backgrounds in the office now. It’s incredible. That diversity allows us to incorporate more perspectives into our work, which in turn helps us ensure we’re not staying in our own little echo chamber in how we think and how we work. Whether you’re talking to somebody from sales, product, support, or marketing, everyone has a different perspective or a different set of experiences. And building those relationships and tapping into those perspectives helps us grow – in our roles, as individuals, and as a business. Plus, it makes the job more fun!

How would you describe working at NinjaOne?

There’s such a builder mentality here. It shows up across the business in so many ways – even in our day-to-day workflows – and it really comes from our CEO, Sal Sferlazza, and our leadership team. We’re all constantly encouraged to think about how we can build upon what exists or improve upon processes, activations, or workflows in some way. In the marketing department, we’re challenged to think about doing things differently – where can we be innovative, where can we streamline, and how can we try something new? The sky really is the limit. That’s such a natural part of our culture, and it makes working here so collaborative, so creative, and so much fun.

What are you passionate about outside of your career?

My faith is central to my life. I love serving at our local church. Family time is also really important to me – whether it’s walking in the forest, cooking together, or just goofing around in our living room, I love spending time with my wife and son. I also like to stay active. I run and play a bit of golf in my free time as well. Sports is another big thing for me. I’m a season ticket holder for my hometown team (AFC Bournemouth. Up the Cherries, in all departments!), but I’m based in Berlin now and I live 750 miles away from home. So, attending games regularly has been a bit of a challenge. That said, I’ve been a proud season ticket holder for 20 years now, and that’s not changing soon!
