Topic
This article discusses how to assign a custom health status to policy conditions in NinjaOne.
Environment
NinjaOne Endpoint Management
Description
NinjaOne allows you to set a health status for each condition, which will display in dashboard views when the condition is triggered. This feature lets technicians identify specific devices without scrolling through an extensive list and provides clarity into device health when viewing organization information or running reports.
For example, you could set two conditions for memory usage: one that triggers at 60% usage with a health status of Needs attention and one that triggers at 75% usage with a health status of Unhealthy. You can then generate a filtered list of only the devices with an Unhealthy health status in the dashboard and in your reporting.
You can assign a per-condition health status to conditions ( including compound conditions) in any standard or dynamic policy.

Setting the Health Status For a Condition
Follow these steps to configure health status for new or existing conditions. You must clear the Use global default parameter for each condition to which you assign a health status.
- Create or edit a new policy condition. Refer to Policy Condition Configuration for more information.
- When configuring your condition in the Condition window, find the Health status setting and clear the Use global default checkbox, then choose a health status for this condition from the drop-down menu. You can choose from the following health status levels, each with its own color code in NinjaOne:
- Unhealthy (color code: red)
- Needs attention (color code: yellow)
- Healthy (color code: green)
- Unknown (color code: grey)

Conditions assigned a custom health status will display a color-coded bar (red, yellow, green, or grey) in the conditions list. Any conditions that use the global default will be color-coded according to the global default settings.

Viewing Device Health Status on Triggered Conditions
NinjaOne displays the health status of devices with triggered conditions on the device's Overview page and in the NinjaOne dashboard.
In the Device Overview
If the conditions trigger, NinjaOne will display a list of alerts, ordered by Health Status in Dashboard → Overview → Device health issues. Click Condition alerts to generate a list of devices that triggered the conditional alert.

NinjaOne will generate a filtered list of devices to which the alert pertains. Use the Any Condition Triggered drop-down menu to filter this list by health status.

Saving Alerting Devices as a Group
You can also save devices in this list as a group for easier recall and shareability. Select the checkbox for each device, then click Save group.

Viewing Triggering Conditions
You can also click the Device health icon in the Devices list to view a pop-up window that shows the triggered conditions.

On The NinjaOne Dashboard
You can also create a list of alert-triggering devices and filter it by only the health status levels that concern you, making it easier to focus on the devices that need your attention.
- In NinjaOne, navigate to Dashboard → Devices → Alerts.

- Click the Health status filter and select the health status levels you want to view. If the filter is not present, click More filters and search for Health status to activate it.

In the Administration Tab
In NinjaOne, navigate to Administration → Devices → Health Status.

Click a condition to open the Edit health status window. Here, you can use the drop-down menu to change its health status assignment.
